Sun Prairie Nursery School, located in the United Methodist Church, 702 North Street, was formed, incorporated, and state licensed in 1968.  We are a nonprofit, nonsectarian school open to all preschool children in the area.  All teachers and staff participate in continuing education activities, and are licensed by the State of Wisconsin.

The philosophy of Sun Prairie Nursery School embraces the idea that the first five years of a child’s life are important.  It is necessary that we capitalize on these years- that we help children develop their amazing potential.  SPNS offers opportunities for socio-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the child.  Our program is designed to meet those needs in a warm and friendly manner.

The curriculum at SPNS is “play based” and encourages the child to learn through exploration and active play.  We believe that “play is children’s work” and have created an environment that supports this idea.  There is a 3 - 4 year old program that meets 2 or 3 mornings per week and a 4-5 year old program.  School is in session from September through May.   Total enrollment for the school is 100 students.
